Deleting your data
How to have the data tied to your Instagram or Facebook account removed, and how to check a request you already made.
What this page is for
Qalam Media Group publishes to its own professional accounts on Instagram and other platforms, and answers the comments and direct messages sent to them, using an internal editorial tool. If you have written to one of those accounts, or connected an account to the tool, this is how you have the data that created removed.
Three ways to ask
- From the platform. On Instagram or Facebook, open your account's settings, find our app under the apps and websites you have connected, and remove it. The platform sends us a deletion request automatically and we act on it without anyone needing to read an email. You will be shown a confirmation code; keep it, and this page will tell you what happened.
- By email. Write to hi@qalam.group with «data deletion» in the subject line and the username you wrote to us from. We reply within 30 days.
- With a code you already have. Add it to this page's address as
?code=…, or send it to us and we will check it for you.
What gets deleted
Everything we hold that is tied to your account: the content of the comments and direct messages you sent us, the platform-scoped identifier the platform gave us for you, and — if it was an account connected to the tool — the stored access token, which is destroyed rather than merely disabled.
We keep one record of the request itself: its confirmation code, the platform-scoped identifier, and what was removed. It holds no message content and no username, and it exists so this page can answer you and so we can show that the request was honoured.
Anything already published on the platform itself — a public comment you left — is yours and the platform's, not ours to delete. Remove it there.
How long it takes
A request that arrives from the platform is carried out immediately. An emailed request is answered within 30 days, usually much sooner.
